“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.” Joseph Addison

Women with Vision
Life truly has surprises in store for us all. For me, I recently attended a networking event that introduced me to women who are striving to impact our world. In this moderate-sized group were women looking to help each other.
There was the speaker, Donna Messer, a woman who correctly described herself as generous with her talent and resources. For an up close and personal experience, http://www.connectuscanada.com/
There was Marcia Barhydt who made the afternoon memorable by lending her sense of humour and sharing how Roaring Women http://www.womenwithvision.ca/ is making a difference in women owned businesses.
In our world of increasing networking tools, it is easy to get lost in it all. This is where Shannon Boudjema comes to the rescue. It is Shannon's goal to help everyone understand and harness Social Media tools. Wondering what LinkedIn, Twitter -and Blogging is all about? Shannon@TheRenaissanceEffect.com
It was a room filled with the exchange of information and referrals and I was glad that I attended. The event was organized by Phyllis Surridge of Women with Vision http://www.womenwithvision.ca/. I was impressed to see women under her direction get so much done over a meal.

Positive Possibilities
You've done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination.” Ralph Marston

When you are inspired
“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in everydirection, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than youever dreamed yourself to be.”~

Growing?
So have you even woke up from a horrible dream/nightmare? You wake up in this frantic, scared state of confusion. I try to spin it a little differently, when I have nightmares I feel they are signs that you are shedding the immaturity and growing maturity. it is good to get scared once in a while, from experience it is what humbles me. I am a little ADD today (go figure for those who know me...not a shocker, but I like to use it in a positive way...) So I am in the middle of re-writing my feelings down on paper as I do at least twice a year...this is a length month long process but so much happens in my day to day life that for me I need to do it. Keeping my side of the street clean is very important to me. So I was sharing some thoughts yesterday with a friend and based on things that I wrote it appeared to me that I often try to create my identity with what I have, with material possessions and my position, yet my identity is actually created by my behavior, by what we do and more importantly by how we do what we do. What really matters is not what you have got or the position that you hold, but who you are and how you behave. Isn't it amazing that what you write down (pen to paper) can mean one thing and when you share it with someone it means something totally different. Usually for me it all comes full circle.I feel we have become a society where we tend to measure a persons status by their possessions and their position. We no longer measure them by their contribution to society. This has created an enormous pressure to constantly flaunt the trappings of success the material things that create the impression of status. I can relate with those who share with me that the very drive to constantly acquire the life trappings of success creates a problem. The problem of spending money that you don't have, to buy things that you don't need, so that you can impress people that you don't like. For me today life is all about the "inside job" I love each and everyone of you, what you do with that is none of my business...This leads to constant insecurity, firstly can I afford these things and secondly, what if someone gets something bigger, better, faster, brighter. You sacrifice your peace of mind for the illusion of material comfort and power. So F*** Up right? But from experinece so true. The mind at time can overpower the heart, but when the heart comes first is a solid foundation. Ihave to learn to do more with less. It is coming clear to me that my personality is more important than your possessions. I feel that what you do is more important than what you've got. I also believe that how you do what you do is more important than what you do.Your actions have a greater influence on your reputation than the position you hold or the possessions you accumulate. The one thing that you take with you where ever you go, is you. Make sure that you are worth taking along. All possessions and positions are transient, here today gone tomorrow. Think of all the changes that have already taken place in your life. The only constant is you. This is a great way to look at it..."So choose to Be a 'Human Being instead of a Human Having."Someone mentioned this scenario to me last night in and it makes complete sense. There are people who are able to learn....But are they Willing to LearnThere are people that are able to change....But are they willing to change

I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed
I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”~ Michael Jordan
